B.HSC, Masters Physiotherapy
Peter Gavalas joins Northern Spinal as one of our Senior Physiotherapist’s having graduated from Latrobe University with a Master’s in Physiotherapy. Pete has experience at elite level sport as both an athlete and a practitioner after spending 2 years at the Australian Institute of Sport on scholarship and a season at Melbourne Victory as a goal keeper. Currently, he heads up the Physiotherapy and high performance department at Green Gully soccer club in the NPL Victoria.
Pete’s experience is in sport and spinal injury management and his case load varies in age from young kids to older adults. Having practiced for almost 10 years now he has developed great relationships with various leading Orthopaedic and Spinal surgeons should you need to seek their opinion for your pain.
When he is not working or watching his beloved Melbourne Demons (lose mostly) Pete enjoys training, motorbike riding, fishing and spending time with his family’

Dr Jarrod Alivizatos, founder of Northern Spinal & Sports Injury Clinic and Muscle Joint Bone, strongly believes that through his work he can assist with the body’s inherent capacity to heal itself. His sheer dedication to wellbeing and unparalleled industry knowledge, make him one of our greatest assets. Jarrod has previously worked in rehabilitation programs for two major AFL clubs.

Jason developed his passion and respect for the human body from a young age while playing at some of the highest levels of competition in basketball. By receiving treatment and rehabilitation for numerous injuries he recognised the true potential of the body. Currently, he is in charge of athlete welfare and team Osteopath for Northcote City soccer club in the NPL2 Victoria.
Jason has additional training in dry needling and enjoys treating a wide range of musculoskeletal complaints from patients from all walks of life. He believes that the opportunity to help his patients is a blessing and enjoys the journey he takes with patients.
Jason has a very strong appreciation of our body’s ability to self-heal. He enjoys empowering patients and educating to allow them to have an active role in their recovery.

Emily grew up being fascinated with helping others by a hands-on approach. Moving from country NSW, she graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science/Chiropractic degree and Bachelor of Health Science degree at RMIT University. Emily has a background in netball and has 4 years experience as a sports trainer/first aider for Greensborough Football Club.
Emily believes in a multi-modal approach to treatment including but limited to: manipulation, mobilisation, soft tissue massage, stretching, dry needling and using therapeutic machines when appropriate. She has a strong perspective in treatment and prevention of pain, along with improving function and empowering those with tools for self management.

Leticia completed her Masters of Osteopathy at Victoria University in Melbourne. Leticia’s motto is “health for life”. She enjoys being able to assist a patient’s pain and movement throughout their lives to achieve their health goals and get them back to doing what they love.
Leticia provides individualised treatment and management programs involving both hands-on treatment and exercise rehabilitation. She enjoys empowering patients to have an active role in their recovery by providing strategies that they can implement for injury management, recovery and general wellbeing outside of the consult.
Leticia treats a wide range of conditions including neck pain, back pain, headaches, postural correction, chronic pain, sporting and workplace injuries. Her treatment includes soft tissue massage, lymphatic drainage, joint mobility techniques, stretching, shockwave therapy and exercise rehabilitation.

Dr Darren Gn graduated from Victoria University with a Master’s of Health Science (Osteopathy) after completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne (majoring in Human Physiology and Neuroscience).
Darren’s passion for Osteopathy and the human body stems from his heavy involvement in competitive sports since an early age. As a professional kickboxer, Darren is no stranger to sporting injuries and pain – having a keen interest in not only injury rehabilitation, but also injury prevention and performance optimisation. He has a “practice what you preach” approach to his work; and will often be seen in the Muscle Joint Bone clinic gym completing the same “prehabilitation” mobility, stability and strength work that he has prescribed to patients.
Coming from a family of engineers, Darren is methodical in his approach to the management of injuries and has a natural affinity for problem solving – with a focus not only on “what hurts” but also “why it hurts”. He endeavours to address the root of the problem with a combination of Osteopathic treatment, exercise prescription and patient education to achieve a patient’s individual goals through a tailored management program.

Brayden graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Health Science (Chiropractic)/Masters in Clinical Chiropractic (with Distinction).
Brayden loves empowering patients to be able to take control of their pain, educating them on the best way to optimise their care for longer lasting relief. Brayden has a keen interest in treating low back pain, headaches/neck pain and all sporting injuries including soft tissue strains/sprains, knee and shoulder pain. He uses a range of modalities including manipulation/mobilisations, exercise rehabilitation, massage and shockwave therapy.
Brayden has completed the International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC), making him well suited to manage many sporting injuries. Brayden is also an Enhance Running technician, allowing him to perform running analysis so can help you achieve a more efficient running style with the potential for less injuries.
Outside of clinic Brayden loves watching the Geelong Cats dominate as well as playing footy or badminton.

Sam is an expert Podiatrist who helps people by investigating the root causes of their complaints. After diagnosing a problem Sam works with patients to help them return to activity without pain and with increased movement. Sam believes he has a responsibility to help people live healthier and more fulfilling lives through his knowledge of biomechanics and sports medicine.
