AxIT Strength Testing in Epping
At Muscle Joint Bone, we use AXIT strength and performance testing to bring objective data into rehabilitation, return-to-sport planning and physical performance.
Rather than relying solely on how strong you feel or how a movement looks, AXIT technology allows our practitioners to measure force production and compare results over time.
Testing can help establish where you’re starting from, identify strength differences between sides and provide measurable benchmarks throughout your rehabilitation or training.
We provide strength and performance testing from our Epping clinic for patients throughout Epping and surrounding areas, including South Morang, Wollert, Mill Park, Thomastown and nearby northern Melbourne suburbs.
What Is AXIT Strength Testing?
AXIT testing uses specialised force measurement equipment to objectively assess strength and physical performance.
Your practitioner can select tests based on your injury, sport, movement requirements and goals. The resulting data can help identify specific strength deficits, compare one side of the body with the other and establish measurable benchmarks.
Testing can then be repeated throughout your rehabilitation or training program to determine whether your strength and performance are actually changing.
AXIT testing may be used to:
- Measure muscle strength and force production
- Compare left and right sides
- Identify specific strength deficits
- Establish baseline performance
- Monitor rehabilitation progress
- Assess readiness for increased training demands
- Support return-to-sport assessment
- Set measurable rehabilitation and performance goals
MEASURE. DON’T GUESS.
What Can Strength & Performance Testing Tell Us?
Objective testing provides another layer of information alongside your physical assessment, symptoms, movement and training history.
Muscle Strength & Force
Measure how much force specific muscle groups can produce and identify areas that may require further strengthening.
Left vs Right Differences
Compare one side of the body with the other to identify strength differences that may not be obvious during a standard movement assessment.
Hip, Knee & Ankle Strength
Assess lower-limb strength relevant to running, jumping, rehabilitation and return to sport.
Shoulder & Upper Limb Strength
Measure force production around the shoulder, elbow and other upper-body areas where appropriate.
Power & Force Production
Assess force during selected performance-based movements relevant to your sport, rehabilitation or training goals.
Change Over Time
Repeat testing at different stages to objectively measure whether your rehabilitation or training program is producing improvements.

What to Expect
Your AXIT strength testing begins with an assessment of your injury, training history, current rehabilitation stage and performance goals. From there, your practitioner selects the movements and muscle groups most relevant to you, rather than using the same testing protocol for everyone.
AXIT testing provides objective strength and force data that can help you:
- Establish baseline strength measurements
- Compare strength between your left and right sides
- Identify specific strength deficits
- Measure changes throughout rehabilitation
- Guide exercise and strength progression
- Support return-to-sport and performance goals
Testing can be repeated at appropriate stages to objectively track your progress and help determine whether your rehabilitation or training program is producing measurable improvements.
OBJECTIVE DATA. PRACTICAL DECISIONS.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM STRENGTH TESTING?
AXIT testing isn’t only for elite athletes. Objective strength data can be useful whenever strength, rehabilitation or physical performance needs to be measured rather than estimated.
Injury Rehabilitation
Identify strength deficits following a musculoskeletal injury and objectively track recovery as rehabilitation progresses.
Return to Sport
Use strength data alongside clinical assessment, functional testing and sport-specific requirements when progressing towards a return to training or competition.
Post-Surgery Rehabilitation
Monitor strength recovery following appropriate orthopaedic procedures as part of a structured rehabilitation program.
Runners
Assess lower-limb strength and side-to-side differences that may be relevant to running rehabilitation, training capacity and performance.
Recreational Athletes
Establish measurable benchmarks and identify areas that may benefit from targeted strength development.
Performance Athletes
Use objective testing to identify performance gaps and provide data that can help guide strength and conditioning.
TESTING THAT ACTUALLY CHANGES YOUR PROGRAM
AXIT testing is about more than producing a collection of numbers. At Muscle Joint Bone, we use objective strength and performance data to better understand where you are now and what may need to improve.
Your results are considered alongside your injury history, physical assessment, movement, training demands and goals. This can help identify strength deficits, differences between sides and areas that may benefit from more targeted rehabilitation, exercise or strength programming.
As your rehabilitation or training progresses, testing can be repeated to measure change over time. This allows your practitioner to assess whether your program is producing measurable improvements and adjust your plan where appropriate.
