Local Podiatrists in Doreen & EPPING
What Your Foot Says About Your General Health.
WHAT DOES A PODIATRIST DO
Podiatrists are registered practitioners that treat skin and nail problems with your feet, poor circulation, diabetes, help elderly and disabled people maintain their mobility by the monitoring of foot health, sport related injuries like shin splints, stress fractures and achilles tendonitis, nail discomforts and heel pain.
Other foot pain and complaints may be treated with orthotics, shock absorbing soles and proper footwear.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT A PODIATRY APPOINTMENT
At our podiatry clinic, you are given a thorough assessment to allow clear diagnosis and prescribe the best treatment for your needs. Initial consultation with a podiatrist will include thorough assessment of your gait as well as the medical condition of your foot or ankle.
Clinical treatment for corns, callus and nails is usually painless and takes about 30 minutes. It is wise to bring along some examples of regular footwear so the podiatrist can assess the cause of the problem as well as treating the presenting symptoms.
Biomechanical assessment for sports injuries, children’s walking assessments, bunions, flat feet, etc. may require a longer appointment.
Preferably come dressed in shorts or loose trousers that can be rolled up to expose the knees during the gait assessment.
Podiatry care is a drug-free and surgery-free path to relieve your aches and pains, help you recover from illness and stay healthy. Call and make an appointment with one of our fully-qualified podiatrists to see a difference.
