Clinical Pilates in Doreen
AT MUSCLE JOINT BONE CLINIC, YOUR BODY MATTERS.
Our clinical pilates classes aim to improve flexibility, posture, strength and develop control and overall endurance in the body. It has also been linked with enhancing mental cognizance. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.
Developed by Joseph Pilates during the First World War, its use was intended to aid the rehabilitation of injured and wounded soldiers. Joseph Pilates, upon developing this exercise system claimed he was 50 years ahead of his time.
Pilates is very similar to Yoga, both being considered mind-body exercises and underlining the importance of correct postures and poses. Pilates does however have a greater focus on strengthening the core stability muscles of the body.
Clinical Pilates often involves an initial assessment which considers existing health, physical condition and goals for completing a Clinical Pilates program. The physiotherapist or instructor will establish areas of improvement by creating a tailored, targeted program which focuses on your desired results.
Pilates aims to correct alignment and enable centering, control, balanced breathing, concentration and precision in order to achieve a strong, functional body.

WHY OUR PILATES CLASSES ARE DIFFERENT
Muscle Joint Bone Clinic offers real time ultrasound assessment of the stabilising muscles of the lumbar spine. Through ultrasound a visual feedback is used to assess and retrain the stabilising muscles of the lower back. This is helpful when addressing pelvic floor muscle dysfunction before and after pregnancy.
Real time ultrasound imaging allows the Osteopath to effectively retrain the pelvic floor without the need for an internal exam.
No medical referral is required for an Osteopath to assess and treat your pelvic floor or stabilizing muscles of the lumbar spine with real time ultrasound.
As we are able to look in depth at the patients areas of weakness we can construct a program that is specific to them. Also our clinical pilates is mixed with exercise rehabilitation.
All of Muscle Joint Bone Clinic’s experts are government registered healthcare professionals. For more information on how Pilates can help you, or to book an appointment contact us on (03) 9715 0582.
